List your token on an exchange

Anthony Allen

Whether you’ve built a project with its own utility token, or launched a memecoin on Wow, Clanker, or another platform, it’s ready to trade on Matcha in minutes!

Launching a token used to take a fair bit of effort. Now, you can launch a token just by sending a message to an AI Agent, or with a few clicks a platform like Wow.xyz or Pump.fun. But how do you get it listed on an exchange where people can actually trade it?

Gone are the days of waiting for a centralized exchange like Coinbase or Binance to list your favorite token. Everyone wants to be early and markets move quickly, so the quicker you get your token out there, the bigger your chance of success. With a DEX aggregator like Matcha, you’ll find your token is ready to trade within minutes of creation, without needing to do anything. Read on to find out how.

Listing tokens on an exchange

There is a key difference between listing on a centralized exchange (CEX) and listing on a decentralized exchange (DEX).

Centralized exchange listings are curated. These offchain marketplaces follow their own rules, much like traditional brokers. They choose who to list, based on criteria of their choosing: does the token comply with internal policies? Did the token team pay a listing fee? Does the CEX have a vested interest in the project?

DEX token listings are simpler, because DEXs are governed by onchain activity. If a token exists, and the DEX is connected to its liquidity pool, it will be available to trade. Of course, individual DEXs do not have access to other DEXs’ liquidity pools, but a DEX aggregator does. Using Matcha, you can trade every token listed across over 130 DEXs - a total of over 8.3 million tokens at the time of writing, growing by tens of thousands every day.

Matcha lists tokens within 15 minutes of seeing onchain liquidity on any supported chain, no matter whether you launch a token on Uniswap, Velodrome, PancakeSwap or any other of the hundred-plus platforms. Want to share a link to your new token built by Clanker AI? Look it up on Matcha. Just launched a memecoin on wow.xyz? Wow, it’s already on Matcha!

How to create, deploy and list a token for trading

Making a token of your own is much easier today than it was just a couple of years ago. In most cases, you will want to choose a cheap and fast network to create your token on, which generally means using a Layer-2 rollup such as Arbitrum, Base, OP Mainnet, and so on.

This section will cover the process of creating a simple ERC-20 token on Base, getting it to show up on a DEX, and sharing a link where others can buy and sell your token. Bear in mind that both projects below are very new and still experimental so service interruptions or bugs are to be expected.

Create your own ERC-20 token through Wow:

  1. Go to the self-serve token launchpad wow.xyz.
  2. Connect a wallet.
  3. Add a token ticker, name, description, and upload a logo.
  4. Select Create.
  5. Choose how much of the supply you want to buy.
  6. Sign the transaction from your wallet and wait for the token to deploy.

Create a token using Clanker AI agent on Farcaster:

  1. Open your Farcaster client (or set up Warpcast).
  2. Create a new cast in the following format: “Hi @clanker create a token called [NAME] with the ticker [$TICKER].” Add an image to your post to use as the logo.
  3. (Optional) add a brief description and other relevant details such as supply cap.
  4. Wait for a response from Clanker, which should include a link to your freshly created token!

Find your token on Matcha

Once your token has been created through either of the methods above, it’s time to find it and share it with the world! You can either search for the token name on Matcha, or use the contract address for better accuracy.

To find your token’s unique contract address:

  • On Wow, you will be shown a page with your new token. Use the link to Basescan to find the contract address of your token. Copy the address (beginning ‘0x…’) and paste it into the search bar on matcha.xyz.
Sharing a token contract address
  • Using Clanker, the AI will reply to your message with a link in the format clanker.world/clanker/. Copy the string from the URL that begins ‘0x…’ and paste it into Matcha.

If you don’t see your token on Matcha immediately after launching, just give it 5 minutes and try again!

Share your token for trading

Now that your token is live, you can share it with others by copying the URL directly from the trading page. You can also set up specific parameters, such as sharing a specific amount of USDC to be traded for your token, and then copy the URL to share exactly what you see in your trade module. That’s it!

Thanks for swapping with us!

With everything onchain, listing your token is as easy as launching your token. And nowadays, that’s as easy as typing a message!

Matcha taps into over 130 liquidity sources to find over 8 million tokens across 10 chains, and those numbers keep rising. Make, share and trade tokens at the best prices and with zero added fees. Try Matcha today.
