Share your trade by copying the URL

Anthony Allen

Trade URLs in Matcha now change to reflect the token pair, trade mode, and amount in real time so you can copy and share a trade with friends and followers directly from your browser!

You can now share specific trades by copying a URL on Matcha. Choose a specific token, amount or trade type to update the link in real time so you can set up a trade once and come back to it later, or share it with others in your app, chat or social feed!

  • Link a specific token pair and amount from your app
  • Bookmark a swap, limit order or cross chain trade
  • Create a shortcut for your DCA
  • Share a limit order with friends

The possibilities are endless. This new feature will save you time and energy, as well as giving you new ways to engage in your community - try it today and tell us how you use it!

How to share a specific trade

It’s easy to make a trade you can come back to or share with other people:

  1. Go to matcha.xyz and choose a token to swap from, on any chain.
  2. Set a trading mode: Market swap, Limit order, or Cross chain swap.
  3. Select a token to swap to.
  4. Enter an amount to swap.
  5. Copy the URL from your browser’s navigation bar.

Now you can bookmark it or share it wherever you want!

Just copy and paste a URL to share your trade!

At each step in the process, you will see that the URL in your nav bar changes to reflect the exact setup: buy and sell token addresses, trading mode, and sell amount are all updated in real time, so you can share them instantly.

Favorite token pairs

Bookmark your most-used token pairs for quick and easy access when you need it. Just choose a buy and sell token and bookmark the tab. Make sure you give it a clear name like USDC/WETH so it is easy to find.

Bookmark your most frequent trading pairs for easy access!

You can even create a folder full of your most traded token pairs to manage your whole portfolio, or to quickly check prices when you need to.

DCA discipline

Make dollar-cost averaging (DCA) effortless! Set a fixed amount of USDC and select a token you want to DCA into. Bookmark the URL and set a reminder, and when the time comes you can just click the bookmark and place your order. No more second-guessing your strategy!

Input a specific dollar amount to trade
Input a specific dollar amount to trade!

You can also choose a specific dollar amount to swap with our latest update! Just select the dollar field, enter a number, and Matcha will calculate the exact token amount to sell.

Limit orders

If you like to share your strategies in the open, why not give your audience a trade to copy? Just go to Limit in the trade module, set a buy or sell limit order that matches your expectations, and share the URL.

Anyone who clicks your link will be able to instantly set up their own position to match yours, with an amount they’re comfortable with.

Cross chain top-ups

Find yourself low on Degen for the latest Base app? Or always topping up gas across EVM networks? Be methodical about bridging by setting bookmarks for any cross chain trade

Just choose a token and chain to send funds from, and where you want to bridge them to. Whenever you next hit an out of gas error, you’re just a click away from topping up!

Remember, Matcha also lets you trade without gas when Matcha Auto is enabled, so you might not need to top up at all!

Customizing URLs

While it’s easiest to just set a trade using the Matcha interface and then copy the URL, you can also change the URL directly. Let’s look at the whole URL first and then break down the individual elements. This is what the full URL structure looks like:

matcha.xyz/tokens/chain/sellTokenAddress?mode=tradeMode&buyChain=chainId&buyAddress=buyTokenAddress&sellAmount=amount

Note the ? and & operators which combine parameters. To create a working URL, you need to swap the parameters in italics for a value or string as follows:

All trade modes include these parameters:

  • chain: Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, etc.
  • sellTokenAddress: the contract address of the token you are selling
  • buyTokenAddress: the contract address of the token you are buying
  • amount: a whole number greater than 0 (optional)

Limit orders and cross chain also use the following parameters:

  • tradeMode: limit or cross-chain. Default is a Market swap if no Mode is defined.
  • chainId: a number from this list:
    • Ethereum: 1
    • Polygon: 137
    • Arbitrum: 42161
    • Base: 8453
    • Optimism: 10
    • BSC: 56
    • Avalanche: 43114

Using the above, a cross chain trade of 100 USDC on Arbitrum to USDC on Optimism would look like:

https://matcha.xyz/tokens/arbitrum/0xaf88d065e77c8cc2239327c5edb3a432268e5831?mode=cross-chain&buyChain=10&buyAddress=0x7f5c764cbc14f9669b88837ca1490cca17c31607&sellAmount=100

Rather than build these entirely from scratch, it is best to first set up a trade and copy the URL, and then use this guide to make small modifications to a batch of links, such as changing the destination token or sell amount.

The quickest way to trade onchain

We’re excited to see how you use our new dynamic URLs to share your trade and remove the friction from frequent transactions. We’re dedicated to making Matcha the most efficient DEX, with the best prices, lowest failed trades, and quick confirmations. But even small changes like shareable URLs and supporting inputs for dollar amounts go a long way to improving the experience for everyday users.
