What is Scroll network
Scroll is the leading zkEVM Layer-2 network that settles on Ethereum. With high transaction throughput at a fraction of the cost of transactions on Ethereum mainnet, Scroll lets you trade for less gas and with the added security of having zero-knowledge proofs validate each transaction.
Bridge to Scroll
The official Scroll bridge supports transfers of over 15 assets from Ethereum mainnet to Scroll, including ETH, WETH, USDC and WBTC. There are two options for bridging: a slower method with lower gas costs; or a faster method that is more expensive but allows you to specify a different recipient address.
The Scroll Bridge currently only supports deposits from Ethereum, so you can use a cross chain swap on Matcha to move funds to Ethereum from any of our supported networks.
Withdrawals from Scroll to Ethereum are a two-step process, where you must first initiate the bridge transaction and then claim your crypto when the transaction has completed.

Which wallets support Scroll L2?
You can use Scroll with many of the crypto wallets supported by Matcha including Coinbase Wallet, Zerion, Metamask, Rabby, and Rainbow. In some instances, you will need to configure your wallet to connect to Scroll Layer-2 before it will detect your assets or let you transact on Scroll. The difference between Optimistic and Zero-Knowledge rollups
The difference between Zero-Knowledge rollups and Optimistic rollups like OP Mainnet, Base and Arbitrum is in the type of proof used to show that transactions have been executed correctly.
An Optimistic rollup uses Fraud Proofs that simply allow a user to dispute transactions before they are settled, relying on constant monitoring for dishonest transactions. A ZK rollup uses Validity Proofs to demonstrate that a batch of transactions are valid without needing to provide all the transaction details.
Optimistic rollups allow a challenge period of 7 days for a problematic (overspent or otherwise non-compliant) transaction to be disputed by submitting a Fraud Proof, while a zero-knowledge rollup provides the proof that a certain transaction is valid, allowing for quicker settlement without the need for a dispute period.
While ZK rollups have advantages in security and settlement speed, Optimistic rollups tend to require less computation and therefore have lower gas costs as no proof needs to be calculated, while also being easier to implement.
